About the role

Quwwat-ul-Islam Girls' School in Forest Gate is recruiting a full-time Nursery Teacher who will also lead the Early Years Foundation Stage, reporting to the head teacher. School hours are 8am to 4pm, with a later finish on Wednesdays.

You will run the early years department day to day: overseeing EYFS planning, making sure observations and assessments are done well, supervising and developing staff, keeping ratios and records in line with Ofsted requirements, and leading on safeguarding, health and safety and risk assessments. You will also work closely with parents, the SENDCO and new families, including tours and open days.

It suits an experienced early years teacher with leadership experience and a calm, caring approach.

What we're looking for

  • Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) or equivalent
  • GCSE English, Maths and Science at grade 4 (C) or above
  • At least two years in an EYFS setting
  • Management experience in early years
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS and Ofsted requirements

It would also be good if you have:

  • Paediatric first aid
  • Level 2 food safety and hygiene
  • Safer recruitment training
