Employer terms
The terms for organisations that post jobs, claim a profile or manage a listing on Muslim Charity Jobs.
Draft, last updated 26 October 2026. This page is a draft and may change before the site launches.
Who these terms are for
These terms apply to anyone who posts a job, claims or requests an organisation, or manages an organisation's profile on Muslim Charity Jobs, and to the organisation they act for. They add to our terms of use. Muslim Charity Jobs is a service of BGD Media Ltd (company no. 10806778).
Who can post
- Muslim charities, relief and development organisations, masjids, madrasahs, faith and community schools and community organisations in the UK, and other charities. Registered charities, CIOs and CICs are welcome, and so are unregistered community groups, which we check by hand.
- You must be authorised by the organisation to post jobs and manage its profile. If you stop being authorised, remove yourself or tell us.
- Our team checks every claim and every request to add a new organisation before you get access. We may ask for evidence, such as an email address on the organisation's own domain, a letter on headed paper or the organisation's entry on the charity register.
The service is free
Posting jobs and managing your profile is free during our first year. If we ever introduce charges, we will tell you at least [PLACEHOLDER: notice period, for example 30 days] before they apply, and nothing you posted for free will be charged for afterwards.
Your listings must be accurate
- Each listing must be for a real, current vacancy (paid or voluntary) with your organisation.
- The title, pay, hours, location, closing date and how to apply must be accurate, and the way to apply must work.
- Close or update a listing as soon as the job is filled or anything important changes.
- Don't charge applicants any fee, and don't ask for bank details or identity documents before an offer.
- Don't include anything misleading, offensive or unlawful, or anyone else's personal information without their permission.
Your listings must be lawful
You are responsible for making sure your listing and your recruitment follow the law, including:
- The Equality Act 2010.Don't discriminate because of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation, unless a lawful exception applies.
- Occupational requirements (Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010). Some roles can lawfully require a person to be of a particular religion or belief, for example an imam or a teacher of Islamic studies, where it is a genuine requirement for the job and applying it is a proportionate way of meeting a legitimate aim. If you apply an occupational requirement, you must say so on the listing and give the reason. We show it on the listing so applicants know. We may ask you to explain it, and we may remove a listing whose requirement does not appear to meet the law. Faith-based wording without a declared requirement may be queried.
- Pay and the right to work. Paid roles must pay at least the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage, and your recruitment must follow UK right-to-work rules. You may choose not to state the salary.
- Advertising, data protection and safeguarding law, and the rules of your regulator.
Before you submit a listing you confirm three declarations: that the role is with your organisation and the details are accurate, that any occupational requirement is declared and meets Schedule 9, and that the role meets minimum wage and right-to-work rules. We record who confirmed them and when.
How we check listings
- Listings from organisations we haven't verified are checked by our team before they go live, usually within one working day. Important edits to a live listing (such as the title, description, pay, occupational requirement or how to apply) go back for checking.
- Verified and trusted organisations may publish straight away. Their listings can still be reviewed, changed or removed.
- We may ask you to change a listing, or decline it, and we will tell you why.
Our right to remove
We may edit a listing's formatting, or reject, pause or remove any listing or profile, and we may suspend an organisation or an account, if we reasonably believe it breaks these terms or the law, is misleading, has been reported and needs checking, or could harm job seekers or the site. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix it.
Permission to publish
You give us a free, non-exclusive licence to publish your listings, logo and profile on the site and in our job alert emails, to share links to them, and to provide them to search engines in the structured format they use for job listings (for example Google for Jobs). You confirm you have the right to give us that licence.
No guarantee
We don't promise any number of views, applicants or hires, or that the site will always be available. We are not an employment agency and we don't screen applicants for you.
Applicants' personal information
When people apply on your website or by email, you receive their information directly and you are responsible for it as a data controller under UK data protection law. Only use it for recruitment and handle it in line with your own privacy notice.
Listings we found for you
We may list vacancies your organisation has advertised publicly, summarised in our own words with a link to your own advert. You can claim your profile, correct a listing or ask us to remove it at any time: see sourced listings and takedown.
Responsibility
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited. Otherwise, as the service is free, we are not liable for any loss of profit, business or opportunity, or any indirect loss, arising from the site. You are responsible for your listings and for claims that arise from them breaking these terms or the law. [PLACEHOLDER: lawyer to confirm the liability and indemnity wording]
Ending
You can close a listing or stop using the service at any time. To remove your organisation's profile, contact us. We may update these terms; the date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and we will email organisation owners about important changes. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
