About the role

Essex Muslim Centre in Chelmsford welcomes volunteer teacher assistants for EMC Madrasa, which teaches children aged 5 to 12 using the Nasea Madrasa Curriculum. Sessions run on weekend mornings and Wednesday evenings, and volunteers can commit flexibly.

Working under the class teacher's direction, you will help manage and supervise the class, support activities and worksheets, and give one-to-one help to pupils who need it. You will help keep the classroom calm and safe, set a good example of manners and character, and follow the centre's safeguarding policies.

It suits patient, reliable people who enjoy being with children. Basic Islamic knowledge or experience with children helps but is not essential.
