About the role

The Aziz Foundation supports British Muslims into careers where they are under-represented. Through its internships and fellowships programme it is offering a paid, remote freelance journalism fellowship with the Religion Media Centre, a charity that helps the media cover religion accurately.

The fellow will research and write news and features about religion and belief, with an emphasis on British Muslim communities, and contribute to the centre's digital output. Interviews take place in January and the fellowship starts in February 2027.

It suits a trained journalist with a journalism qualification and news-writing experience, a good understanding of British Muslim communities and the ability to report fairly on their own faith. A background in religious studies and digital skills would help. Full details and how to apply are on the employer's website.

  • Journalism training or qualification
  • News writing experience
  • Understanding of British Muslim communities
  • Able to report objectively on own faith

It would also be good if you have:
